After an incident, inform Compensa immediately, as soon as possible, but no later than 3 working days.

If it is not possible to submit the claim via the portal, please call 8888 during the main office working hours.

What to do if an insured event occurs?

Immediately call the State Fire and Rescue Service at 112 or 01 if the damage was caused by fire or explosion.

Immediately report to the State Police at 112 or 02:

  • if the damage was caused by unlawful actions of third parties or theft,
  • if there has been a collision with a vehicle or a road traffic accident.

Take all necessary emergency measures to reduce the extent of the damage and inform Compensa about the incident by calling the 24-hour information line 8888.

Without Compensa’s written consent after an insured event, you must not:

  • start repair or restoration work on the damaged property, except for actions necessary to immediately prevent further damage,
  • admit liability on behalf of the insurer or make promises regarding compensation payments,
  • dispose of the insured/damaged property.

What documents need to be submitted?

  • Photos of the damaged property.
  • Land Registry certificate.
  • Purchase and installation documents.
  • Repair or restoration estimate (if available).
  • Police report (if the damage was caused by unlawful actions of third parties).
  • Fire Service report (if a fire occurred).
  • Electricity distribution operator’s statement (if there were power fluctuations).

Claim review and decision-making

Compensa will, as soon as possible, but no later than 3 working days after reviewing the information provided in the claim, request additional documents to clarify the circumstances of the incident and the extent of the damage, or appoint a representative to inspect the property.

Compensa will make a decision on the payment of insurance compensation within 14 working days from the day all documents necessary for the decision have been received. The insurance compensation will be paid within 5 working days after the decision is made.
