Accessibility Statement

This Accessibility Statement applies to the online content published at www.compensa.lv (hereinafter – the website). The website is managed by ADB Compensa Vienna Insurance Group Latvian Branch (hereinafter jointly referred to as Compensa).

Commitment to Accessibility

Compensa is committed to making our digital services accessible and user-friendly for as many people as possible, including individuals with disabilities. Our goal is to create a website based on internationally recognized standards to ensure a comfortable user experience for all.

Accessibility Standards

We strive to implement the principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 and to meet level AA requirements. These guidelines help us ensure that the content is:

  • Perceivable – users can access and understand the content regardless of sensory limitations.
  • Operable – interfaces can be navigated using keyboards and assistive technologies.
  • Understandable – pages and their elements function consistently and predictably.
  • Robust – our services work well with modern assistive technologies such as screen readers.

Website Accessibility Features

The automated “EqualWeb” accessibility tool installed on our website provides the following functionalities:

      • Keyboard navigation enabled
      • Font size adjustment, alignment, and parameter settings
      • High-contrast mode for dark backgrounds
      • High-contrast mode for light backgrounds
      • Option to change website color schemes
      • Support for color blindness and monochrome mode
      • Ability to change font for improved readability
      • Enlarged cursor (black or white option)
      • Zoom up to 200%
      • Link highlighting on the site
      • Header highlighting on the page
      • Word explanations upon mouse hoverAccessibility Limitations

Despite our efforts to make the website fully accessible, some functions may currently be limited. Notable accessibility gaps include:

  • Some interactive elements are not fully operable via keyboard;
  • Certain interactive elements lack visible focus indicators when navigating with the keyboard;
  • Some text or graphic elements do not meet sufficient contrast requirements;
  • Some elements or functions lack appropriate labels or names;
  • Videos on the website do not include transcripts or audio descriptions;
  • Voice commands may not function correctly in some areas of the site.

We are continuously working to improve our services by updating and enhancing website features and accessibility.

E-Store / Self-Service Accessibility

Currently, our e-shop and self-service platforms are not yet fully aligned with accessibility standards. We recognize the importance of this and are actively working to offer updated versions as soon as possible, making them more convenient for all users, including those who require additional accessibility solutions.

The new platforms will feature extended functionality, greater convenience, and better service accessibility for users with diverse needs. Planned updates will include adjustable font sizes, high-contrast modes, step-by-step wizards, integration with a wide range of assistive tools, and more. These improvements are expected to be implemented by early next year to ensure full compliance with applicable accessibility requirements.

We believe these changes will provide a smoother, more inclusive digital service experience for all users.

Ongoing Commitment

Accessibility is a continuous goal. We regularly assess and improve our digital services to better serve all users, including those using assistive technologies.

Who benefits from accessibility features?

Accessibility tools help not only individuals with permanent disabilities but also those experiencing temporary or situational limitations (e.g., a broken arm, bright sunlight, or a slow internet connection).

Can I use the website without a mouse?

Yes! All main functions of www.compensa.lt are fully accessible using only a keyboard. Use the Tab, Enter, and arrow keys to navigate the site and interact with forms or buttons.
Each keystroke moves the focus to the next element, which is outlined. Press Enter to activate the selected item.

Zooming Content

There are three main ways to zoom content: using browser features, OS tools, or browser extensions. We recommend using the browser's built-in zoom.

Most browsers allow zooming by pressing Ctrl (or Cmd on macOS) and +/-, or by holding Ctrl and scrolling the mouse wheel.

Is the Compensa website mobile-friendly?

Absolutely! Our responsive design adapts to different screen sizes and input methods. Whether you're using a desktop, tablet, or smartphone, accessibility features remain active.

Yes, we conduct both manual and automated audits to identify and eliminate accessibility barriers. We also follow recognized web development standards to reduce the risk of violations.
