After an incident, inform Compensa immediately, as soon as possible.


How to act if an accident occurs?

If a case of fraud is detected, action must be taken immediately to minimize possible losses, for example, by blocking the payment card.

If losses have occurred due to cyber fraud, you must report them (including submitting a statement as a victim) to the following institutions:

  1. The bank where your personal account is held.
  2. The State Police: www.vp.gov.lv, pasts@vp.gov.lv or by phone 110.
  3. The Cyber Incident Response Institution: cert@cert.lv or by phone +371 67 08 58 88.

If losses have occurred due to e-commerce fraud, you must report them (including submitting a statement as a victim) to the following institutions:

  1. The State Police: www.vp.gov.lv, pasts@vp.gov.lv or by phone 110.
  2. The Consumer Rights Protection Centre: www.ptac.gov.lv, ptac@ptac.gov.lv or by phone +371 65 45 25 54.
  3. The Cyber Incident Response Institution: cert@cert.lvor by phone +371 67 08 58 88.

Which documents need to be submitted to receive compensation?

  • Copy of the police report;
  • Bank statement or payment confirmation;
  • Correspondence or email copies with the seller or fraudster;
  • Screenshots (links, chats, payment pages, etc.).

Handling of the claim and decision-making

We make a decision on the payment of insurance compensation no later than 30 days after we have received all the documents necessary to assess the insurance claim.
