Report MTPL claim

Claim a compensation on the Compensa portal or fill out the application form below.

Report a Claim:

The claim must be lodged with the same insurance company which issued the OCTA policy to the person who caused the road accident.

In the event of damage to the vehicle, the documentation relating to the accident and damage caused must be attached to the claim showing the extent of the damage caused.

The damaged object or vehicle must be maintained in the condition it was in after the road accident! The prevention of damage may only be initiated after it has been examined by an expert appointed by the insurer or his representative.

An application for compensation shall be submitted:

• By completing the application on the Compensa portal;
• On the Internet, by sending the application form below to the following e-mail address: atlidzibas@compensa.lv;
• At the cooperation partners;
• ASIMO Car Body Repair Centre located at Gunāra Astras Street 5 in Riga. Tel. +371 20124111, working days from 09:00 a.m. until 06:00 p.m. (regardless of the type of compensation or repair company chosen);

• Latvian Insurers' Car Service located at Daugavgrīvas Street 47a in Riga. Tel. +27787758, working days from 09:00 a.m. until 06:00 p.m. (regardless of the type of compensation or repair company chosen).

Steps after receiving a claim application:

• Compensa will assess and analyze the damages,
• The decision will be made in accordance with the law - within 30 days after the receipt of all necessary documents,
• Payment will be made within 5 business days after making the decision.

In case of an accident abroad:

According to the law of the relevant state, report to the police or complete the agreed statement form,

Learn the registration data and the insurer of the vehicle involved in the road traffic accident,

If the accident has occurred in one of the European Economic Area countries, turn to the Latvian representative of the insurer of the party who caused the accident or the Motor Insurers’ Bureau of Latvia, who will help you find the insurance company where you must submit your claim,

If the accident has occurred in one of the Green Card system member states, you must submit your claim in the relevant country to the insurer of the party who caused the accident. If this is not possible, upon your return to Latvia, turn to the Motor Insurers’ Bureau of Latvia who will provide you with the information on how to submit your claim.

You must report to the traffic police, if:

• People have been injured in the road accident,
• There is damage to third-party property,
• The vehicles are damaged to an extent where they are unable or it is prohibited for them to participate in the road traffic according to the Road Traffic Regulations,
• If more than 2 vehicles are damaged.

Important! Until the arrival of the representatives of the Traffic Police, it is prohibited to move the vehicle and touch objects related to the traffic accident. After the arrival of the representatives, follow their instructions.
