Travel insurance

After the accident you should immediately, as soon as possible, but not later than in 30 (thirty) days report the accident in written to Compensa.

Attention! In case of travel annulment you have to inform the insurer prior to the planned travel start date.

What documents do I need to submit to get reimbursed?

Medical expenses

  • A medical certificate from a medical institution in the country concerned with a precise diagnosis confirming the injury or disease, and invoices for the services received.

Baggage delay

  • Baggage voucher.
  • Boarding pass.
  • Airline certificate for delayed baggage, stating the time of delay, and receipts for any unforeseen purchases needed because of the delay.

Lost or damaged baggage

In the case of damage – baggage voucher, airline certificate confirming that the suitcase/bag and belongings were damaged, the amount of compensation paid (if any), list of damaged belongings/items, photos of the damaged suitcase/bag and/or belongings.

In the case of loss – baggage voucher, airline certificate confirming the fact of baggage loss and payment of compensation to the Insured person (if any), receipts for purchases made during the trip (if any), list of items in the baggage with their approximate value.

Flight delay

  • Full flight itinerary printout.
  • Airline delay/cancellation certificate stating the delay/cancellation time and the reason for the delay/cancellation.
  • Receipts for replacement flight and/or hotel expenses.

Trip cancellation

  • All receipts and/or invoices confirming that the Insured person has paid for the intended trip or package.
  • A certificate issued by the tour operator confirming the Insured person’s planned travel, including the amount recovered by the tour operator for the cancelled trip.
  • A certificate from the hospital diagnosing the illness (in the case of sudden illness) and the time spent in hospital.

! The cancellation shall be notified to the Insurer as soon as possible but no later than the start date of the intended travel period, while the Insured person is in the territory of the home country and has not started the journey.

At the request of the Insurer, other documents proving the occurrence of the insured event may be required.

What to do if an insurance event occurred during the trip?

The helpline 8888 will provide assistance, coordinate the necessary treatment, and, if necessary, organise transport.

  • Get advice on what to do by phone
  • Act in accordance with the instructions given by the emergency services
  • Request and keep the documents specified by the emergency services
  • Submit a Compensa claim form with the necessary documents
  • You will receive compensation. Payment will be made within 5 business days after the decision is made.

If the insured event occurs in Turkey or Egypt

! If the insured event occurs in Turkey or Egypt, before receiving medical assistance, the Insured Person is obliged to contact the emergency services to organise medical assistance and receive instructions, as well as to agree on the planned amount of necessary expenses.

If the Insured person’s medical expenses have not been agreed with Compensa, we are entitled to reimburse the medical expenses to the extent that the Insurer would have reimbursed these expenses if they had been arranged through the emergency service.
